Ancient Churches of Goa
Goa is the smallest state of INDIA bounded by the state of Maharashtra in the North, Karnataka in the East and South, while the Arabian sea form the western coast. 

Goa witnesses a large number of international tourists as well as domestic tourists throughout the year but the best time to visit Goa is from mid-November to early April. Usually people visit Goa for Carnival, exotic beaches, pilgrimage, nightlife and many more things…..

Here are some of the best places to visit in Goa.

PALOLEM BEACH 

location: South Goa, 40 km from Margaon.
Attraction: Butterfly island, Honeymoon island, Monkey island

AGONDA BEACH 

near to the Palolem beach lies the Agonda beach which has a 3 km long beach. It is quite place and it’s not overcrowded like other beach. Agonda beach is also famous for Ridley Turtle nesting site.

Not far from Agonda beach is Cabo de Rama fort also known as Cape Rama fort which is the oldest fort in Goa built before the arrival of Portuguese. One can have a  majestic views of entire length of Colva beach from the fort.

DR SALIM ALI BIRD SANCTUARY 
 
It is Goa’s only bird sanctuary locaed on isaland of Chorao along river Mandovi.
From Panaji, one needs to take a bus or a cab to Ribandar ferry wharf and then a ferry across Mandovi river to the island of Chorao. The sanctuary is within walkable distance from Charao ferry wharf.
 
Attraction: Coastal birds, Flying foxes, jackals, crocodiles etc.

CANDOLIM BEACH

15 km from Panaji in the North Goa lies the Candolim beach.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Fort Aguada at Sinquerim Beach (adjoining to Candolim Beach) which was built by Portuguese in 1612 for defense against Dutch and Maratha invaders. It had underground water storage chamber, Lighthouse, Gun powder room and Bastions.

 The word ‘AGUADA’ means watering place in Portuguese. The storage capacity of water tank is 23,76,000 Gallons. It has five division with a support of sixteen huge columns and a staircase to descend.
The light house at initial stage used to emit light once in seven minutes. In 1864 it was updated to emit light creating eclipse every 30 seconds, however it was abandoned in 1976.

CALANGUTE BEACH 

It is located in North Goa at a distance of 15km from Panaji. Calangute beach is the best place to enjoy water sports. Mainly Parasailing, jet sking, banana ride, bumper ride, wind surfing are common activities. All these activities water sports can be enjoyed till the sunsets.

VAGATOR BEACH

This beautiful beach is located at a distance of 22 km from Panaji. Near to it lies the Anjuna beach and the Chapora fort.
The Chapora Fort was built by Portuguese in the year 1717. One can have a fantastic view of Chapora river, Vagator and Arabian sea from the fort.
